The Client

JustAnother Architect were appointed to refurbish this period property by a professional family and family.

The Original

A north facing mid-terraced property, split across three floors in the very desirable Stoke Newington, London.

The Brief

The client loved the house, but the space and flow of the property didn’t suit their lifestyle; they needed more space, additional bathrooms, an office, and a guest bedroom suited to elderly relatives. Keen to retain the character of the property, the brief called to respect and restore the period features while creating a distinctive, contemporary feel to new extensions.

The Design

Our proposal comprised a reconfiguration of the first floor to accommodate an additional guest bedroom and ensuite, an ensuite to the master bedroom and office space. On the second floor we extended over the existing double height extension to create a new bathroom and added an additional dorma to the rear. The ground floor was redecorated throughout, with period features reinstated and the exterior clad in charred wood finish, to create a contrasting contemporary feel to the period property.
